Granite Stone.
In terms of properties of Granite and Marble, there are differences in the tectonic process and internal structure. Basically, Granite is formed from lava, under high compression of the earth's crust. Marble is the result of the metamorphic process of limestone. has a non-dissociated structure. Its main component is calcite (crystalline form of calcium carbonate, CaCO3). It is often used to sculpt statues as well as decorative materials in buildings and other types of applications. The word marble is also used to refer to rocks that can enhance the shine or are suitable for use as decorative stones.
Marble Stone
While granite usually has a solid, hard, high-gloss stone structure (after grinding). While marble usually has a rocky texture that is not very solid, it should be softer and less polished than granite (if not using wax, adhesives).
In terms of hardness, marble usually does not have as high a hardness as granite, but in return, marble has a more vivid natural texture and a brighter color than any other stone. Marble is porous, softer and more water-permeable than granite. Therefore, if you do not handle the waterproofing thoroughly in the long term, it will absorb water, dust and change color, losing the original beauty. In addition, in terms of construction, it is also more difficult because it is very fragile, chipped and difficult to find similar products, so the construction price is higher than granite. However, because of the luxurious beauty, the cold but elegant color of the stone will bring the homeowner relaxation, coolness and elegance. Marble is usually priced higher than granite and is often paved with special locations such as elevators, wall tiles, lobby floors, etc.
Currently in Vietnam market, some marble stones are prevalent as follows: Carara White (Italy), Volakas (Greece, Italy), Royal White (China), Egyptian Gold (Egypt), Kream Marfil (Spain. Spain), Dark Emperado (Spain), Light Emparedo (Turkey) ...
There are some signs to easily recognize what is granite, what is marble: ordinary granite is cut with stone sizes of 60cm, 80cm, 100cm, rarely sawing large slap slabs. While marble usually cuts large stones (large slap), it is rarely cut into small sizes.
In terms of color, granite usually has a high uniformity of color, symbols and patterns among the quarries exploited at different locations are also different (not much). While marble usually fluctuates a lot in color, the natural texture varies widely between blocks. For example: the same is Volakas marble, but one lot differs from the other in terms of stone texture, maybe blurred, dark, straight, and curved ...
